Description
Westwood introduced the Income Opportunity Fund on January 1, 2003 for investors seeking high current income through dividend-paying and/or interest-bearing securities. The Income Opportunity Fund is an actively managed portfolio with a focus on companies with strong cash flow that is sufficient to support a sustainable or rising dividend.
The fund invests in dividend-paying common stocks, preferred stocks, convertibles securities, energy MLPs and royalty trusts, REITs and selected debt instruments.
Process
Fund Objectives:
- The primary objective is to provide a high level of current income.
- The secondary objective is capital appreciation and tax efficiency.
- The Income Opportunity Fund is managed to provide higher current income than offered by traditional fixed income products.
- The fund is an actively managed portfolio of liquid and transparent securities.
